What is HYPNOTHERAPY? The use of Hypnotherapy brings about beneficial change in behaviour, emotions and thoughts. When you begin your treatment session, you will discover that hypnosis itself is a very pleasant experience, in which you feel very relaxed both mentally and physically, and where your mind is focused on inner experiences rather than on what is happening around you. What is HYPNOSIS? Hypnosis is an induced state of mental concentration of the conscious, and unconscious mind when completely physically relaxed. When in this state there is an increased susceptibility to suggestion. The conscious mind is the part of the mind, which thinks, feels and acts in the present. The unconscious mind is a much greater part of the mind, and normally we are unaware of its existence. It is the store of all our memories, all our past experiences, and indeed all that we have ever learned. In this respect it resembles a very large hard disc on a computer, which can be accessed with the correct program.. The power of suggestion is tremendously enhanced when it acts upon the unconscious rather than the conscious mind. During hypnosis, people usually say they are aware of what is going on around them. In fact it is rather like being in a daydream.
WHY HYPNOTHERAPY WORKS During hypnosis the unconscious mind is very receptive to positive suggestions and can be reprogrammed to accept the required changes, these changes cannot be made against your will.
