I hope that you have enjoyed reading the latest edition of
our newsletter. As I am sure you can see we have another
packed work party calendar culminating in the bi-annual holiday
in May/June.
The main focus of the recent committee meetings has been
assisting Nick and Trudie with the production of the social
and work party calendars. We are always looking for
leaders for both social events and work parties, if you would
be able to give up some of your time to undertake either of
these roles please let Trudie or Nick know. As I am
sure you are aware without the assistance from the members
who lead these activities they would not happen.
The group is also looking to get some more clothing produced,
if you have a view on the type or the colour then please
let Carol know. This is going to be the type of clothing
that can be worn on a worksite (so the brighter the better).
We have still got some clothing left from our last
2 orders, if you would like any of the following let me
know (any reasonable offer accepted):
• 2 large green t-shirts
• 1 medium green t-shirt
• 2 medium dark blue fleece (full zip)
They have been in my cupboard for a long time now and
are looking for a new home.
We have also a large number of leaflets that the group printed last year (they are in my
cupboard as well). If anyone knows of a good outlet for our leaflets then please let me or
any member of the committee know. We are coming into the time of year when we get most
of our new members. At the start of the year people seem to make resolutions of carry out
conservation work and hopefully the weather will start to improve soon.
Finally we are also coming to the end of our year (this finishes at the end of February). For
those of you that have done more than 50 hours you should be getting your NT volunteer
cards in March. This entitles you to free entry to NT properties and also a discount in the
NT shops and cafes. Our AGM also takes place in April, if anyone would be interested in
joining the committee please let me know. The AGM is well worth coming along to, the
formalities are always kept to a minimum and the talks are always very interesting, we also
provide free tea and coffee, I hope to see you soon.
